Metro South Africa
The SituationThe situation in South Africa is critical. The country leads the world in AIDS cases and projections indicate that by 2006 there will be 3 million orphans whose parents have died due to HIV/AIDS. In addition to this, 50% of the population lives beneath the poverty line.
In Spring 2005, Metro Ministries began reaching out to children in South Africa in the province of KwaZulu-Natal with Sunday School programs as the primary outreach. Additionally, information on awareness and prevention of AIDS is also being provided.
Won-By-One: Child SponsorshipConcerned with not just the spiritual needs of the children, but with the physical as well, Metro extended its child sponsorship program to the South Africa connecting sponsors from all over the world with needy children in KwaZulu Natal. For $23 per month, sponsors are able to support our programs for these children. Additional financial gifts can meet need he or she may have by providing food, clothing, school supplies or other items to benefit your child and his or her family. Sponsors receive a photo and information about their sponsored child along with annual updates on his or her progress.
